Ruby made plays that showed her potential at the Zero Star Showcase. Ruby is a perimeter threat, and she made the defense pay by draining a three-pointer up top off a screen. Ruby finished a full-speed layup in transition, worked hard to deny entry passes to cutters, and dished passes to open teammates when her shot wasn’t there.

Ruby is a guard who has an all-around impact on the court for Houghton. She knocks down triples with a high-arcing shot, drives hard to the basket, and finishes effectively off two feet. Ruby creates steals with her defensive pressure, and I’m looking forward to seeing her compete at the Zero Star Showcase.

Ruby had a solid day for Zero Star 16U and showed her potential at the MBA Mother’s Day Classic. She worked hard on defense and forced fouls with her hard drives to the basket. Ruby finished contested layups well off two feet, knocked down free throws, and blocked a shot in the paint. She’s a scrappy player I’m eager to see more of in the future.

This is a name to put in the memory bank. She showed some very nice potential over the last year and is an exciting young player. Zawada has incredibly active hands on defense and good defensive anticipation, making her a threat to pick up steals and deflections. She can get the ball in the paint off the bounce, play off 2 feet and kick it out to shooters.
