The ELC Midgets are looking to make another big run to the State Tournament at the 3A level this season before sending off their impressive Senior Class to the next level. In this Class, someone that has always played an important role in their success is Rylee Yager Rylee Yager 5'9" | SF Estherville Lincoln Central | 2025 IA at the Forward position. Yager does whatever is asked of her to be successful. She is a prospect that can control the land by the paint at a thorough rate, she is efficient in her movements, and she always leaves it all out on the floor. In their contest against Eagle Grove, the Midgets almost won by 70 points and Yager led everyone with 23 points (11-15), 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. I do think this team makes it back to State if they compete this way. They have everything they need to be successful, now it’s all abut showing up.

and she usually puts up great performances while doing so. In the same contest that Stokes had 39, Yager went off herself to the tune of 28 Points (12-18), 9 Rebounds, 8 Assists, and 3 Steals. This wasn’t just a good game for one player but the whole team as a unit. They competed against a team from out of state and they showed them what Iowa is all about. If these two compete like this the rest of the Winter, I’m not sure who will end up slowing them down at the State Tournament…

I really enjoyed watching Rylee Yager Rylee Yager 5'9" | SF Estherville Lincoln Central | 2025 IA play today. She was a positive communicator for her team and didn’t seem to tire the entire game. Yager is athletic, disciplined on defense, has good size, and makes smart decisions. She’s got good court vision – she showed off a nice spin move and dropped a bounce pass for an easy two, then followed it up by drawing two defenders on a post up and kicking it out for an open three. Later, Yager lost her defender on a smooth crossover and finished a lefty runner. She also hit a few three pointers. Yager proved today that she’s a force in all aspects of the game and I predict a strong senior season for the small forward.

An unsung hero for the Estherville Lincoln Central Midgets is Forward,

. Yager doesn’t get enough credit for the work she does off of the ball in her team’s offense. When you hear about this group, you hear about guard,

but Yager puts positive stats up every contest in one way or another. She has been someone that has stood out for her team in big contests in front of all different sized audiences and I’m expecting more of that this next twelve months as they look to repeat and make another State appearance during their 2024-2025 season.

at the Forward position. Yager stands at around 5’9-5’10 with some natural reach. She works hard and she is a someone that is going to consistently put up numbers in some department in a positive matter, every time she steps on the floor. Not to mention, she isn’t the type to need the ball in her hands to produce, which is important. I’m expecting the Midgets to get to the State Tournament again in the next couple of weeks but if they want to win once they get there, Yager will need to be an important piece in that regard. Something she has proven able to do, several times this season already.
