The senior had spurts throughout the game, but her non stop energy and quickness really changed the game in the fourth quarter.  On the defensive end she was on the floor for loose balls and works hard to turn opposing ballhandlers and disrupt the flow of the offense.  Wilson had a couple giant killer makes via floaters on drives and a particularly tough finish put Sand Springs up 6 late in the game.  The energetic and passionate senior was another Sand Springs standout in double figures with 12 points.

The “Star of the Game” was obvious from the outset. Her 13 first quarter points got the Sandites out to a hot start and they never trailed. I said yesterday in the team preview for Sand Springs that everything ran through Kauri and that was no lie. She was the majority of the offense on Tuesday night with several teammates hurt and no matter what the Bulldogs did defensively, they could not contain her. The SWOSU commit hit four three-pointers and was 8-of-10 from the free throw line on a night that saw her show off her fearlessness and outstanding drive. Wilson was phenomenal and is undoubtedly going to be a tremendous college player.

The SWOSU commit runs things for this Sand Springs squad. Her on-ball defense at the Point Guard position is a tone setter for everything the team does and is going to do this season. She is tenacious and her quick hands lead to a lot of turnovers for her opponents. She is lightning quick getting down the floor and does a great job of finishing at the rim and playing through contact. Kauri has been First Team at PGH events with her AAU squad and her leadership is second to none. Look for big things from this senior in her final season.
