Brandon Fisher | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Sakura continues to separate herself as one of the most impactful players in the state, producing at a high level against a demanding schedule. She is currently averaging 24 points, 10 rebounds, 5.7 steals, and 3.8 assists per game, numbers that reflect her all-around influence. Serving as both a guard and the primary scoring option for South Dade, she shows a high-level ability to create shots off the bounce with excellent balance and control. Her composure stands out, as she dictates tempo, remains calm under pressure, and never appears rushed despite being the focal point of opposing defenses. With a strong frame, she can score from the perimeter or power her way to the rim, and her defensive impact is evident through well-timed blocks and rim protection that reinforce her value as a true two-way player.

Barnes showed a very high ability level shooting the ball of the bounce as the Point Guard and leading scorer for South Dade. Barnes had a smoothness and calmness on the ball while facing a lot of pressure. She never got in a hurry or sped up, she played the game at her pace and she was very effective scoring the ball. Barnes was clearly a focus of the defense, but she knocked down several tough, contested shots trying to keep her team in the game.

Sakura did a little bit of everything for her team last year on their way to the state tournament. She will no longer be playing on the same team as the Hardisson sisters, so she will need to be much more aggressive and lead this South Dade team for them to see the success they expect. Last year, she averaged 11.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.2 spg, and 2.6 apg.

Sakura had her coming out party at Lakeland in the state tournament this year and made her name known in a big way. She has a solid frame and good length for her position that will be showcased with HER Elite on the EYCL circuit. Her ability to shoot it and contribute in a variety of ways makes her one of the best in this class with that versatility. For Southridge this season, she averaged 11.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 4.2 spg, and 2.6 apg. She’s active on defense, crashes the boards, and is definitely one of the top shooters in the 2028 class in the Sunshine State.

was one of the best three point shooting Freshmen in the building. She set the stage early in the Finals with her shooting. She will be a player to watch this travel season. She handled the ball well and did a good job of moving the ball and getting her shots.

Sakura was the best surprise of the tournament for me. I had not seen her play but had heard of her. Her shot is high-arching and very accurate from long-range. I was impressed with her ability to put it on the floor and hit the mid-range jumper or use the glass to finish inside. She has a strong frame, one of the best basketball IQ’s for her class, and a ton of potential as the best player in the 2028 class I personally saw in Lakeland. Sakura finished with 16 ppg, 10 rpg, and 2.5 spg.
