is an athletic forward who brings energy, versatility, and a high competitive nature to the basketball court. She runs the floor well, plays aggressively on defense, and can score through attacks of the rim, a nice midrange game, and an ability to get to the free-throw line. Defensively, Simpson is disruptive and applies pressure in the paint, on the perimeter, and in transition. Her combination of athleticism, defensive impact, and offensive versatility allows her stock to trend upward, and a strong spring and summer are on the horizon.

Saleigh contributed a strong all-around effort for LHP, finishing with 8 points and 5 rebounds. She battled on the glass on both ends of the floor and provided a solid interior presence with her strength and athleticism. contributed solid minutes and made her presence felt in multiple areas, finishing with 6 points and 5 rebounds. But that only tells half the story. She battled inside and help make it difficult for Bolle’s inside game to get going. Simpson stayed active around the basket, battling on the glass and providing extra possessions. Her effort and willingness to do the small things — rebounding, positioning, and playing within the flow of the offense and defense were key in executing the game plan. These are the plays that get the ‘fast break” started. You may see the bucket, but Simpson is that player who makes it all go.

This is another highly anticipated matchup, with two top-ten teams in the state regardless of class meeting in Orlando. Lake Highland Prep will host Tampa Catholic and LHP brings a slightly deeper, more balanced roster, meaning one player may need to step up in the moment. Saleigh has the versatility, athleticism, and physicality to be that difference maker. In LHP’s region semifinal win over Cardinal Mooney, she contributed 12 efficient points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks, showing she can impact the game on both ends.

impressed with her craft and feel around the basket. She scored efficiently inside, made herself available in key moments, and delivered timely interior passes. Her energy, physicality, athleticism, and her ability to read the floor and play through contact made her a steady presence on the floor. Simpson is a forward who contributes to winning through composure, smart decisions, effort and her production on the floor.

Saleigh is a strong, physical, and versatile forward that does a lot for her team. She’s able to hold her own against bigger opponents with her physicality and frame, so she can match up against just about anyone. Her defensive presence is always felt with her shot-blocking ability, and offensively, she gets downhill and finishes at the rim so well.

was really impressive at the SSS Showcase earlier this month. Her athleticism jumps out at you and her ability to run the floor does as well. At the SSS, she did a good job of aggressively attacking the rim to score. Simpson got to the free-throws line several times and knocked the free-throws down. On the defensive end she was a problem. With her great length, agility, and size, she had the ability to cut off drives and put pressure on the shot attempts in the paint. Simpson held it down in the middle and did a good job of battling and rebounding the ball. In transition she filled the lanes well and was a force going to the rim. She had the ability to take the pass and score the ball even when contested. Several even led the break herself and made good decisions with the ball. The playable that that really brought the house down was her chasing down a point guard from behind, causing a turnover, and seeing her teammate score on the other end.
