In a 33–32 grinder, every possession mattered, and Sammy made sure Charlotte finished them. The 6-seed knocked off 3-seed Manatee by one, and her 3 steals and 7 rebounds were critical in a game where stops outweighed scoring runs. She consistently disrupted timing, got hands on passes, and battled on the glass to prevent second chances.
What makes her even more valuable? She leads Charlotte this season in steals, blocks, rebounds, and points — a rare two-way anchor who impacts every stat column. Now the Tarpons head north to face 2-seed Sunlake in what projects as a terrific matchup in 6A Region 3. If it turns into another possession-by-possession battle, Sammy’s ability to defend without fouling and control the glass could once again be the separator.

Samantha is a long lefty with a really smooth game. She was knocking it down from outside when I saw her in Gainesville, and she showed a lot of willingness to crash the glass on both ends. Her size and athleticism could allow her to continue climbing these rankings.
