Jazzier Smokes continues to garner attention every time we see her, consistently improving her game. The shifty, quick guard gets by defenders with a lightning-fast first step. At last year’s Christmas Tournament in Wesley Chapel, she stood out with her smooth, highlight-worthy handles and instincts in transition. Now transferring to Charlotte High, Smokes will step into a bigger leadership role—giving her a prime opportunity to break into the Top 50 in the next rankings.

Smokes is a player who sets the tone on the floor and the culture in the locker room. Her coach called her a natural leader. Her effort was contagious—she energized her team with relentless hustle and intensity on both ends of the floor. Smokes is a player we are yearning to see more of this upcoming season.

If you’re playing with the ball in front of her, before you know it, all you see is smoke from her quick first step, leaving burnout marks on the court as she finishes at the rim on the other end. Her ability to play low, quickly change direction, and accelerate side to side makes her a player you need on the floor at all times. She can guard the opposing team’s best players full court. With so many skilled scorers in today’s game, finding a top-notch defender like Smokes is a true gem.

Jazziel Smokes Jazziel Smokes 5'5" | PG/SG Charlotte | 2028 State FL was impressive at last year’s Christmas tournament in Wesley Chaple.  Her effort on the court was infectious and she had the ability to lift up her team with her effort alone.  Put this in your pipe – her coach praised her and said if he had 5 more Smokes he wouldn’t have to coach as hard.  Her efforts were noticed and she was the same on both sides of the ball. 

Jazziel Smokes Jazziel Smokes 5'5" | PG/SG Charlotte | 2028 State FL may have brought the most intriguing name to the game, but the young player also brought some game with her as well Smokes played well for a young Freshman and she has something that will elevate her game as she continues to play- Heart! Smokes executed a crossover that cleared the bench and had bystanders cheering with excitement. Smokes calmly made the shot and made no fuss about the move. She came down on a subsequent possession and got to the rim for another basket. The young guard moves well, she can handle the ball and makes good decisions on the floor. All those tangibles stood out but the intangibles were at the front – heart, unflappable, and a high IQ.
