had some nice drives to the basket attacking the paint and pulling up for her shot. She did well finding her teammates for the pass as they cut to the basket, or she hit them with the pass outside the perimeter as she attacked the paint. She hustled back on defense getting her hands in the way of shots on the other end.

(Phoenix East 11th) showed off her handles attacking the basket and getting to the rim with ease knocking it down for two. She did well keeping her opponents close on defense blocking their path and being able to close out quickly. She knows how to control the tempo of the game pushing it up the court or slowing it down to facilitate some offense. She had a nice full court pass bouncing it right into her teammate’s hands for the bucket.

had some tough takes to the basket. She hustled back on defense blocking a shot in transition protecting the basket. She changes directions well with the ball creating some space for her to finish at the rim. She scored on her own in transition using a crossover to get some space and pulling up for the jumper.

is a fantastic athlete. She has the speed, the jumping ability, and the skill to be a truly elite player before she is finished. Ward is a competitor who attacks the rim to score or get to the foul line. She is also a leader on the court. Ward directs on both offense and defense and raises the level of play of everyone on the basketball court around her.

She is able to score at the goal with power, get to the foul line, or drain a smooth floater in the paint. Ward is a skilled player who raises the level of play of those around her on the court.

Sami Ward has a new school, and she is picking right up the way she knows how. She is crafty with her moves handling the ball getting by her opponents and showing off her IQ. She has a high motor attacking the paint being able to score off the glass or through her floaters. She can create her own space off the dribble or get the pass off her cuts to the basket.

Sami Ward had some nice ball fakes attacking the paint, drawing her defenders towards her, and making the dish to her teammates. She can hit the shot from downtown, too. She was constantly finding her teammates open for the shot. She did a nice job getting her hands involved on defense knocking the ball away exploding in front of her opponent.

attacked the basket using shot fakes to get her defenders off their feet in order for her to score some points. She used power dribbles to score her points driving hard down the lane. She gets inside for rebounds, too, going up and over her opponents to grab the board or knock it out of their way. She had a nice play using an in and out dribble to a spin move for the fast break two points.

Sami Ward is one of the main ball handlers for Leesville Road. She has a nasty crossover move that she exaggerates just enough to get her defender off balanced and to create space for herself. She does a nice job doing the “little things,” too, like crashing the boards and hustling back on defense to block the path of her opponents in transition. She attacks the basket being sure to take advantage of her defender being a step behind.
