Samireyah Pettway Samireyah Pettway 5'3" | PG Edward H White | 2029 FL impacted the game at multiple levels on the floor. The athletic guard combined her instincts, basketball IQ, and hustle to consistently make winning plays. Whether it was anticipating where a play was developing, catching errant passes, creating transition opportunities with rebounds and steals, or keeping possessions alive with effort plays, she always seemed to be around the basketball. Pettway also showed touch in the mid-range game while making smart decisions on the offensive end of the floor. Her ability to affect the game on offense, defense, and transition , coupled with her feel and athleticism, made her one of the more exciting playmakers on the court.

Samireyah Petway stood out with her pace in the open floor, pushing the ball well on the fast break and delivering a nice no-look pass in transition. She ran the floor efficiently and made strong decisions with the basketball, and showed good overall court awareness.  Petway also impressed with her ability to get to the rim and score, and also operate as a playmaker – dishing the ball to her teammates for scoring opportunities.

She rebounded well for a guard, pushed the break effectively, and showed strong instincts in transition by making outlet passes and relocating for scoring opportunities. Defensively, she stayed active on the perimeter, kept her eyes on the ball, and showed the ability to steal the ball or rebound and go coast-to-coast herself. She handled physicality well and consistently made intelligent basketball plays. Pettway’s instincts and basketball IQ really stood out in the tournament.
