The best way to put it is that Saniah Jones is a powerhouse player. She is very physical with her back to the basket offensively, always playing with a high level of intent with whatever she is trying to accomplish. One of the main pieces for Della Lamb’s offense in this event was to throw it to Jones in the post. Even if someone happens to be in her way, she is so talented and athletically gifted that she can go over them or through them if need be. I saw that time and time again on Saturday as I was passing by. It makes sense that Jones is a Top 10 rated prospect out of 2028 Class in Missouri. She plays with a lot of confidence and that is going to take her places at the end of the day.

There was no player in the building in today’s 17u matchups who completely dominated in both games. The main thing that sets Jones apart is her relentlessness on the boards. She came away with a minimum of 8 offensive boards in both games and was a force on the defensive end as well. Offensively, she showed patience and elite footwork in the post area and didn’t need much to get going. She knows how to use her strength and gets things done at her own pace. There were multiple times she facilitated at the top of the key and was calm before initiating an offense. One of my favorite players from day one to watch.

Saniah did a great job crashing both the offensive and defensive glass, which often resulted in easy putbacks. She faced one of the toughest matchups of the evening and showed her ability to compete and hold her own, forcing tough shots throughout the night. Saniah was also very effective on the offensive end, gaining deep post position that allowed her to catch and finish from either shoulder.

Saniah stood out with her effort and creativity around the basket. She used clever moves like a shot fake into a spin to score against taller opponents. Her strong frame and good footwork helped her hold her own versus older defenders. Jones made things happen through her hustle and energy on both ends of the floor.
