Sabb started out the event with a bang on night one in the last game of the opening night. I had not seen
Florida Nation
or Sariyah play before came home after the game very impressed with her team and her individual play. Sabb was unconscious from three, scoring 21 points in the first half. Sabb hit at least five and maybe six threes in the game and a few were from the parking lot. Her composure on the ball was very impressive. Anytime the play broke down, Sabb got the ball back, pulled it out, and got over to one side of the court before breaking her defender down off the bounce, creating space, and calmly and confidently released the ball in the air. When opportunities presented themselves Saniyah also got the basket and scored with great effectiveness. She did an excellent job running the point and offense for her team, rarely running the ball over and getting it to her playmakers on the inside

Sariyah earns her spot on the Honorable Mention All-Tournament team as the engine of Blanche Ely’s high-octane backcourt throughout the 5A state series. In the semifinal victory over St. Petersburg, she led her team with 13 points while showcasing her elite court vision and defensive instincts, adding four assists and three steals. She carried that playmaking and defensive presence into the state championship game against Booker T. Washington, contributing nine points and remaining a constant threat on the defensive end. Sabb’s ability to disrupt opponents at the point of attack while facilitating for her teammates was a driving force behind the Tigers’ deep tournament run and their narrow battle in the 5A final.

delivered a strong performance with 3 threes, strong ball handling, crisp ball movement, and energy on the court from start to finish. Sabb was smooth with the jumper and she created shot opportunities by finding the soft spots in the defense, use of her handles, and her great use of head fakes and rips to the midrange area. Sabb was a dynamic playmaker whether she was shooting, defending, running the break or making plays for her teammates.

Sariyah made her presence felt with her ability to knock down the three and keep the offense moving. She shared the ball and played unselfishly by consistently making the extra pass to create better looks for teammates. Offensively, she showed a smooth pull up jumper and did a nice job finishing in transition by capitalizing on open-floor opportunities.

Sariyah jumps almost 100 spots in the rankings as one of the better 2027’s in South Florida. She is a shifty guard that can finish around the hoop with some jelly or knock down the long ball with a pure stroke. Her frame has some length to it, and she also plays with a lot of swagger and confidence on a talented high school squad. I think she has potential to move up even more as she fills the role of a few talented graduates.

Sariyah Sabb was a standout last weekend. She was effective getting the ball to the rim and scoring. When it didn’t go down, Sabb was successful drawing the foul and getting to the freethrow line. The guards ability to get down hill was predicted on speed.
