‘s shooting ability up close and personal a number of times this Winter. Baldwin, a 5’7 SG/PG, loves to work off of the ball out of the Wing position. She is more of a hooper that likes to be ready off of someone else’s creation at the PG spot but if she needs to, she can also move over to run her team’s offense as a pass-first PG. All in all, we saw glimpses of a lot of great things once again out of Baldwin on a fairly loaded Iowa City West team over the past four months. Her AIA team is also going to be loaded so as long as she plays her game and stays within her own ability, she should stand out as one of their most consistent producers as the Spring moves forward.

Baldwin is a tough-minded combo guard with a wide range of skills in her basketball bag. They were on display during the Trojans’ early-season win at rival Iowa City High. The junior impacted the contest on both ends of the floor, finishing with eight points and five rebounds. Baldwin owns a nice handle, making her capable of breaking down defenses off of the bounce with either hand. Her physical strength and balance make her a threat to finish at the rim through contact. Baldwin shows a good feel for finding her shot behind the arc with a pure form to knock down open looks. Athleticism, speed and lateral quickness lead to her being a sound defender.

is a great example of a kid who shows perseverance and doesn’t let the moment become too much for her. Despite a quiet start offensively in the first half vs. CCA last week, I applaud Baldwin for not letting it deter her. Instead, she stepped up her game and brought the heat in the second half — this included a tough drive and finish off of two feet through contact and a curl cut to the basket for another lay in. She also loves to fire from deep, hitting a tough contested jumper in the first half when ICW needed a boost. Baldwin looked confident at the line as well which urged CCA defenders to guard her with discipline. The combo guard has made a jump statistically between her Sophomore and Junior seasons and I believe the diversity in her offense will continue to grow as the year goes on.

is another hooper that will put up some more numbers this Winter while shooting the ball from deep. Baldwin likes to mainly pull up off the catch on the outside but she also has the ability to shoot off the dribble when the situation calls for it. Whenever she lets it go, the shot looks like it’s going to be picture perfect. It might not go in every time but it always looks like a good attempt at the very least. I’m wondering how Baldwin and company will compete this season. They have the potential to win a lot of games. They just need to keep their eyes on the prize.

of IC – West is coming off of a rememberable Sophomore campaign, as well as a nice Spring AAU season with her AIA program. If you want to compete at the next level, you have to be able to produce without the ball in small amounts of time and Baldwin embodies that. She can catch and let it fly, she can get into her midrange shot quickly, and she can work her way to the bucket if need be – not needing a ton of time with the basketball in her possession. That’s going to help her compete not just now, but at the next level one day.

showed last night that she can play long stretches and continue to make good decisions for her team. From scoring at all levels to making good reads, I really like what I’ve seen of Baldwin’s game and her basketball IQ. Baldwin made plays on both sides of the floor with a calm demeanor and looks to be a solid floor general in the making — she can shoot off the jab or the dribble, doesn’t need much space to get her shot off, and has a number of moves to finish at the rim (including a nifty side step). She’s crafty, knows when to call her own number, and will find the open teammate. I’m looking forward to watching Sasha’s progress throughout her career.

might be a prospect out of the 2027 Class but as of right now, she is definitely someone that is talented enough to play at the D2 level from what I’ve seen over the past twelve months. Baldwin was a leader for her Iowa City West Trojans team last Winter and that shouldn’t change over the next three years while Baldwin is attempting to lead their charge, not only in the categories of scoring the ball but also in defending, rebounding, assisting, and causing turnovers by the opposing team. This AAU season, Baldwin took her talents to her
All Iowa Attack
team and followed things up with a respectable year. Her ability to shoot the ball at a high rate, while being a consistent producer stood out more than most from her age level and she is going to be able to build on that moving forward. At this camp, I’m excited to see what she can do. If Baldwin comes out and kills it, it wouldn’t surprise anyone in the slightest.

has produced this past year while competing on the court for her Iowa City West and
All Iowa Attack
programs has been noteworthy. Baldwin is a guard that comes in at 5’7, she has a picture perfect shot form, and she never seems to be satisfied with her production, no matter how well she does. If you want to be a great player at the end of the day, you can NEVER be satisfied and Baldwin demonstrates that to a T. This upcoming season with the Trojans, she is going to play a huge role in her team’s success. If her coaching staff can figure out the best way to use her, she is going to light it up from all over the floor. When you pair that along with her ability to get stops on defense in the half court, you start to see what she could really bring to the floor.

Iowa City – West always seems to put together a nice season. Doesn’t matter if they have to rely on Freshman or if they have Senior leaders, no matter what they make it work and that speaks to their system as a whole. A prospect that came in this season and showed her worth right away is Guard,

. Baldwin is crafty, quick, and she knows when she should shoot it compared to making the extra pass. Whenever we are talking about players coming in and making an instant impact, those players usually have a good head on their shoulders as the game is seen slower through their eyes. I think that’s the case here with Baldwin. She see’s situations before they happen and because of that, she finds a lot of success. Over the next three years it’ll be important that her offensive game grows to all three levels. If she can do that, I’m sure she will be fielding calls from college coaches before things are said and done with her basketball career at the high school level.

mentioned and for good reason. Baldin is a quick moving Guard with an impressive ability to shoot the basketball from behind the arc both off of the dribble or the catch. This Trojans program has a few collegiate level players as things stand and one of those players is Baldwin. Offensively she has a feel for the game that is better than most, she move effortlessly with the ball when she dribbles, and she is coordinated on almost every shot attempt she takes. Defensively, she is good at meeting her matchup prior to the ball getting there and she moves well laterally against other opposing guards who maybe able to handle at a high rate. We are halfway through the season and the Trojans are learning. They have won some important matchups to begin the year and I’m hoping they can continue on that path moving into the Playoffs. They have really good Guard play as a whole, as long as everyone does their job, they are going to be satisfied with how this season is going to end.
