About Savya

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My game is centered on defense that creates offense. I stay vocal on and off the court. I call out plays, organize the defense, communicate screens, and alert teammates on dead balls. I hustle every possession and take pride in playing lockdown defense. I’m also a strong shooter, hitting 44% from three and nearly 50% from midrange. I take smart shots and will always fight for my rebounds.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is defense first and team-centered. I bring energy, and constant communication every possession. I’m vocal, accountable, and focused on doing the little things that win games. I take pride in discipline, smart decisions, and consistent effort. I compete hard, stay confident in my shot, and never shy away from tough matchups. I value toughness, leadership, and impact over stats.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in school clubs like Habitat For Humanity, Crafted with care and National Honors Society. I enjoy serving my community as much as I love basketball. I've been in the student council for two years to build my leadership and develop my confidence.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have grown in my leadership, teamwork, and confidence. I look for ways to lead and take initiative in any setting so I can practice being a strong leader. Competing in different environments with different players and coaches has strengthened my ability to adapt and work well with others. I’ve built my confidence by stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing every opportunity without fear.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have grown a lot through adversity. I step up and take initiative, even when I feel doubt or pressure, because I know leaders act anyway. Playing in new gyms, adjusting to roles, and competing against stronger players has strengthened my resilience and drive. I’ve built confidence by pushing through bad shooting days, tough tryouts, and uncertainty, choosing slow growth over fear and giving up.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am seeking a college that values academics and athletics equally. I take as much pride in my 4.0 GPA as I do averaging 3.4 blocks and steals per game. I want to join a program that develops me into a well-rounded person and player. I want to grow, win, and lose together as a team.
