Strong Rebounding Stretch Post. Shania isn’t a new name. I’ve been watching her since the Fall League season. She had a break out game on the day I attended finishing with a double-double, 12 points and 12 rebounds. She was able to get some of her points after getting offensive rebounds. She took a shot from the high post area. I also had her down with 2 blocks from sturdy wall ups.

Shania is a talented and a high IQ post player. She will be playing at a new school this season. I’m looking forward to seeing how she will adjust. She can pull defenders out the paint to set up for an attack and to pass to cutting teammates. She commands double and triple teams on the block.

Shania is very talented and a high IQ post player. She needed it all as she faced single, double and even triple coverage tonight. Throughout the game she took a beating, however, you wouldn’t know if it affected her because she just kept playing. Just like she did in the Jamboree – She got to the rim either with a straight attack or spin move. She out ran players in transition. If she wasn’t running her lane, she was initiating transition after rebounds with outlet passes.

Shania’s first touch in the game resulted in a mid post face up attack with a left handed layup. Something you don’t see too often from a high school 6’2 post player. Her next touch was a transition layup because she beat everyone down the floor. She is very good at facing up to pull her defender out the paint to set up an attack or to pass to a cutting teammate.
