DeFrain’s Wildcats soundly beaten in the quarterfinals by eventual champion Silver Lake at the 3A state tournament. A two-time Central Plains League, KBCA and Sports In Kansas first team and KSHSAACovered second team selection following last season, DeFrain and company have a terrific shot to return in 2025. While I am unaware of the offers she holds DeFrain is a talented multi-sport athlete with options.

DeFrain is a part of the experience, strong, returning cast that will make the Wildcats a very tough out this season. She is lefty who finishes well with either hand, is strong around the hoop, has solid speed and athleticism, and will punish from the line if fouled. A Central Kansas League first team selection in 2023 she also received KBCA and Varsity Kansas 3A honorable mention honors.
