Skeeter averaged 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, helping guide South Laurel to a 26-5 season that included a 50th District championship and a trip to the 13th Region title game. She became the first prospect off the board in the 2027 class with her commitment to Campbellsville University back in July, joining a program that’s been a NAIA powerhouse in the Mid-South Conference.

Mabe continues to be one of my favorite prospects in the class. With her versatility on offense and defense, Skeeter does a little bit of everything on the court. With great size at 6’0 and the ability to handle the ball or play on the block, Mabe offers a unique combination of traits that make her a matchup issue for any opposing defense. Keep an eye on Skeeter as an X factor in the 13th region title race this season.

Skeeter seems like she’s been playing for South Laurel since she graduated elementary school but she keeps improving. A smart player with a high basketball IQ, Mabe has good feel for the game and is an active rebounder around the bucket. She has some guard skills but does most of her damage inside the free throw line. Mabe is one of the most versatile players in the Junior class.

Skeeter caught my eye with her performance against Nicholas County. She put pressure on the defense with her downhill attacks, and finished through contact with great body control at the rim. She also made sure to box out when a shot went up.

South Laurel finished with an impressive 25-6 record, claiming the 50th District title and advancing to the 13th Region Championship game. Skeeter Made was a difference maker all season, averaging 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. At 6 feet tall with an incredibly long wingspan, she’s one of the most versatile and uniquely skilled players in the class. Skeeter can run the point or dominate in the post, making her a matchup nightmare. She’s crafty and skilled, able to score with her back to the basket using exquisite footwork and post moves, create her own shot off the dribble, hit threes, and crash the glass. She also reached 500 career rebounds and earned 1st Team All-Region honors.

Skeeter has a solid frame and is very agile for her size. She handles the ball like a guard and is a natural playmaker with a lot of flare. She made a jaw-dropping over the shoulder pass to an open teammate cutting to the basket that looked second nature to her. I like her versatility and instincts on the floor.

Only an 8th grader, South Laurel’s run in the postseason will depend on the youngest roster in the region. Skeeter is a versatile scorer who can make threes or score around the bucket but she could make the biggest difference on the glass. For South Laurel to make a Cinderella run, Mabe will need to be a prolific rebounder in addition to playing solid post defense against bigger opponents.
