Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Skylar averaged 19.5 points, seven rebounds, 3.6 steals, 2.2 assists, and one block per game for Cass City. She dropped 28 points in a game and was the most impactful two-way player for her team all season. Skylar has a unique blend of length and quickness that you don’t see at the guard position often. She plays with a high motor, gets downhill, and converts difficult shots in the paint. Skylar’s long arms, anticipation, and pressure create steals on the perimeter that lead to quick transition points. She received recognition as First Team All-Conference and was a PGH Sophomore Player of the Year.

Skylar is one of the best guard-wing prospects you won’t see on the travel circuit. She had a phenomenal showing for Cass City at the Au-Sable Shootout and is having a huge sophomore campaign so far. Skylar led the Redhawks to a resilient win against Sanford Meridian, scoring a game-high 28 points on 14 field goals. She also dished out the game-winning assist in the closing seconds. Skylar takes the ball hard to the hole for two points, crashes the boards to score put-backs, and keeps her hands active to create turnovers on defense.

Skylar proved to be a hidden gem and one of the best prospects in the gym at the Au Sable Shootout. She is long and athletic with speed that makes her very tough to defend when she drives to the rim. Skylar covered ground quickly on defense with her long strides and all-out effort. She chased down ball-handlers from behind multiple times to create steals. Skylar beat a defender with a crossover dribble to score a contested layup in transition and dropped in many floaters over defenders in the paint. Skylar scored a give-and-go layup and cut back door with a burst to cause the defense to foul. She forced many steals and dribbled the ball powerfully the other way to score breakaway layups in top gear. Skylar took a defensive rebound the length of the court for another layup and changed hands quickly to protect her shot around the basket. She pivoted in the corner to create space and knocked down the long jumper. Skylar was a relentless rebounder, shot blocker, and defender all day. She handles the ball with both hands and can jump out of the gym. Skylar is only a sophomore, so when you add up her physical measurables and basketball skills, she has a very high ceiling as a college prospect.
