Skylar showed good feel at the Hillsborough Country Showcase as a Class of 2030 prospect to continue monitoring in the Tampa Bay area. She knocked down a floater in the paint, pushed the pace in transition, and consistently got downhill with the dribble. She showed the ability to finish in traffic and ran the floor well, including an off-foot finish at the rim in transition. Skylar’s ability to play with pace and attack downhill makes her an intriguing young prospect to keep an eye on.

Payne is a rim protector and with strong hands. Always in position to receive the entry pass which makes it easy for her to score at the rim. A player that has a nice mid-range jump shot. Can catch at the high post and rip toward the basket. Scores on the block with a drop step or hook shot.

Skylar put together a strong showing thanks to her combination of skill, control, and physical tools. She knocked down the three-ball when given space and did a good job advancing the ball with the pass in transition to keep the pace moving. Possessing a strong frame, she was able to play through contact and remain composed when attacking off the dribble. Her change of direction stood out, allowing her to create separation and get downhill or wherever she wanted on the floor. Once she reached the paint, she consistently played under control, getting to two feet and making sound decisions rather than rushing possessions. The blend of size, feel, and offensive versatility makes her an intriguing young prospect to continue tracking in the 2030 class in FL.
