A heady floor general who is about to really break loose. She has had some D1 interest as of late, but it is really about to take off. A 3-level scoring threat who can run an offense efficiently. Has great handles, can create off the dribble, hit teammates so they can shoot in stride, her offensive capabilities are through the roof, and her team feeds off her presence on the floor. She can score it from all 3 levels and then turn around and contribute on the defensive end. Rebounds, steals, deflections, she is capable of doing it all. It’s her time, and college coaches will be in attendance to get a long look at this special talent.

Walden is the floor general that next level coaches need on their squad. She does an excellent job seeing the floor and making the correct reads. I still love her ability to create space and knock down shots effectively. She is one of the best 3 point shooters in the state for a reason. She continues to be an explosive scorer with elite playmaking instincts. Walden is an excellent two-way athlete and I can’t wait to see who lands this kid at the next level.

Talented guard finished with 17 points. She was the top Lady Lion who delivered consistently. She came to play and if you know her competitiveness, you know she will be back next season in this spot. One thing about this hooper, she shows up to play every single game. She will be back next season for sure. She will be grinding away this upcoming spring and summer to ensure her team gets back next season. Her stock continues to rise and when it’s all said and done, she will be one of the top kids in the state in her class.

Came on strong in the second half. Such a talented kid, she let everyone in the building know that she was going to make sure TKA would punch their ticket to the next round for a 4th consecutive time. Scoring 17 points, 3 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 streaks, and 2 blocks, she helped take down a tough Lady Eagles team from Ezell-Harding. This kid is the real deal, and she is showing why she is among the top kids in her class.

20 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists, a kid who just competes and can do all things. She is a heady floor general and is willing to do whatever it takes to win a ball game. She has a knack for being around the ball and it’s evident in what she does and how she conducts herself on the floor. Anytime she’s on the floor, her team feeds off her energy. Look for her to continue on this trend and make sure her squad is in position to attend state this upcoming season.

In the Music City Hoopfest, this talented floor general put on a show. Playing with relentless energy and effort,  she led her team in scoring against Brentwood, dropping 27 points, grabbing six rebounds, dishing out six assists, and getting five steals. Anyone who has seen this young lady play knows she’s the engine that powers the team. No matter if it’s on the circuit or in school ball, this young lady produces anytime she is on the floor. Look for her to get the New Year started off right as TKA heads into district play.

Skylar Walden Skylar Walden 5'8" | PG The King's Academy | 2027 State TN was a standout player for The King’s Academy in her sophomore season. The same thing should ring true in her upcoming junior season.

Walden’s game features a lethal three-point shot. She hits it consistently and can hit it in all sorts or ways;on the run on a fastbreak, a simple catch and shoot, and off the dribble. In a game against The Webb School last year she had four threes.

Another area that stands out in her versatility is on defense. She has great side-to-side speed that allows her to stay in front of defenders. She also has enough athletic ability to jump and contest shots of bigs

Solid as a rock, this kid continues to grow in her game. She can score it from all 3 levels, facilitate an offense, defend, rebound, you name it. She is a selfless player who contributes in multiple statistical categories. She’s a gym rat who always gets 1% better daily. She will be looked upon to take the Lady Lions to the next level as they battle for state contention.

I will say this one thousand times- Walden is and will always be in my top 5! She’s simply one of the best athletes in the state of TN. A 5’8 point guard with a 4.2 GPA, who can knock down as many transition 3’s that she wants. She runs the offense for TKA and she runs it close to perfection! She leads and does whatever it takes to win. Skylar creates offense for herself and for her teammates. She’s a good two-way player, and I have no doubt that she will be an assist leader at the end of this season.

When it comes to this kid, she is one of those total packages that has everything. She can score it in multiple ways, facilitate an offense, lock up on D, and really contribute in multiple phases of the game. She is an impact player, one who is going to leave her mark on each and every contest. Doesn’t matter the venue, time of year, setting, none of that, if this young lady is around, you are going to find out real quickly who she is. Solid ballplayer who can play.
