Slatey reached the 1k point mark with teammate Kadynce Delt Kadynce Delt 5'11" | SF/PF Howe | 2026 State OK listed below. Giving 2a powerhouse Howe two young players that can score lot of points. An aggressive defender in the front court that creates turnovers with her footwork and quick hands. Great understanding of the game that knows how to read the floor and make good decisions.

It wasn’t her best shooting night from the perimeter, which included a heart breaking rim out late, but Free was still impactful with a sneaky off the dribble game. Has some change of pace to her moves, allowing her to get to the rim for scoop finishes or good reads to open teammates. Has a variety of finishing moves to go along with the scoop shot, finger rolls, runners and more. Definitely hunts for shots along the perimeter like good shooters do; from off the ball movement to smartly using a screen in transition to shake loose for a three attempt. Promising start to her junior campaign, will be keeping track of her shooting splits.

Howe ran into Class 2A powerhouse Dale in the first round of the Fast-Pitch State Tournament, the same team that beat them out in last year’s basketball Semi-Finals. Terrific on-ball defender. Able to get her hands on passes, leading to many Howe fast breaks. Has deep three-point range, and can shoot off the dribble well.

Sometimes it’s possible to ID who the shooters are based on what plays a team runs. In the game watched, it was often Free getting her number called and set up for looks on out of bounds plays. It was fitting as she’s a smart off the ball mover and gets set quickly. The small town standout also looked comfortable on the ball and appears set for a huge junior campaign in eastern Oklahoma. With dreams of a trip west on I40 to make an appearance at the final year of the Big House.

It’s pretty much perfect that the best photo I got of Slatey to add as her profile picture here on the site is of her diving on the floor. She may have spent more time on the hardwood, like actually ON the hardwood, than any other player on Sunday. If there was a loose ball,

was on the ground battling. Most of the time, she made it hers and kicked it to an open teammate. She is a hustler with tons of heart. Free is a smart player who just has that “wants it” factor that is going to make her standout whether the tryout has 10 participants or 200. The three-ball is where she really makes her money scoring-wise. But, she is just a winner for doing all of the small things. That is why she will play somewhere in college.
