Recently selected to play on the Brazilian National Team, Sophia is the sole freshman on this list, but she certainly has the chance to be special this year. She’s a combo guard with the unparalleled ability to make shots off the dribble from deep range. Goncalves can create for herself from the 3-point and shoots without hesitation from far beyond the arc. This year she’ll have a chance to bring some extra offensive firepower to a MacDuffie team that’s looking to matchup with any team. Sophia will give the Mustangs the ability to play with the lineups with her being interchangeable at positions. Not only can she be impactful on offense, Goncalves is able to guard multiple positions securely too. Sophia’s unique skillset could make her an important part of the squad this year. She shoots fearlessly from way beyond the arc. Sophia can play multiple positions while being able to guard at least 3 different positions too.
