Villegas is another #THROWBACK player because her “thinking the game” and understanding positioning to out-rebound taller players both stood out during the 3 on 3 see evaluation here Well it was much of the same as she rebounded and handled the ball afterward, saw the floor in transition, as well as in the set, well, even off the dribble to pass or score. She never let up on defense; “on the ball” pressure was solid

Villegas falls into that #sizedontmatter group, and it never matters when you can play. Watching her do a variety of things that remind me so much of yesteryear had me smiling. She understands positioning to out-rebound taller players. She beats the offensive player to “the spot” and makes them pick up their dribble, but her “hands and footwork” to finish multiple times “dropped the mic”

Made several great backdoor cuts and consistently found ways to get herself open by cycling around her defender and changing her positioning. She showed a good understanding of how to move without the ball and was active in finding open space rather than standing in one spot. When she caught the ball in traffic, she did a nice job using her body to protect it and create separation from her defender. Showed good touch and patience around the basket, using timely up-and-under moves to get her shot off. Her ability to play off two feet, keep her defender on her back, and create space helped her generate quality scoring opportunities throughout the game.
