Soriah Gouard
About Soriah
Expert Analysis
Brandon Bradley | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Soriah transferred from Decatur Central to Crispus Attucks at the end of the Summer, and from what I understand, once she was denied eligibility by the IHSAA, she opted to graduate early after the first semester concluded. She is a good student, a good teammate, and she’s one of those players who may not necessarily excel at any one trait, but she also isn’t deficient at anything. She can shoot it a little, handle it a little, she’s a nice athlete, and she’s an effortful defender. She plays with a nice smoothness & versatility and is worth a look.

Soriah began her career at Danville High School in Danville, Illinois. She transferred to Decatur Central in Indianapolis and played her last two seasons there, amassing 543 points and 363 rebounds over that 2-year span. Now, she is headed across town, where Crispus Attucks has picked up multiple transfers and reshaped their roster. Soriah will bring nice versatility to the Tigers as she can play any number of roles & positions. She is a nice athlete, a multilevel scorer, and a solid all-around defender. She is the perfect “plug and play” kid at the high school level.

Soriah is a sum-of-her-skills type of prospect. She isn’t the best in the state in any one category, but she is also well-rounded and not really deficient in any category either. She is a nice athlete, she moves well in all directions, and she plays with a nice motor. She has some touch around the perimeter, she can finish inside as well, plus she can handle the ball and initiate the offense when necessary. She has enough ability to become a high-level defender, and I think that’s where she can stand out the most. I’ve compared them before, but I still think she has some similarities to an Aubrie Booker (2024 IU-South Bend commit).

Soriah is one of the most well-rounded, balanced, and versatile guards in the 2025 class in Indiana. To me at least, she has some similarities to 2024’s Aubrie Booker (Center Grove/IU-South Bend). Soriah is long, athletically built, fluidly athletic, and just all-around smooth. She is one of those kids who might not be elite at any one trait, but she also isn’t deficient at anything. She can handle and make plays, she can score it at the basket, she can bury an open jumper, plus she rebounds and defends her position with energy. She can plug into most lineups and help.
