Tanner eclipsed the 1,000-point mark in her high school career a day ago, a huge accomplishment for any hooper, especially in just their junior season!

Some of her best play occurred at the beginning of the season. She had 7 3-pointers in a loss to 3A powerhouse Dover, then Dardanelle bounced back and beat Joe T. Robinson, where Tanner went for 25 points and 4 assists. The junior had an even better game against Western Yell County, recording 33 points. In the next game, Tanner did it again, logging 28 points against Huntsville.

Tanner is obviously a great scorer. She can light it up from beyond the arch, step inside to hit some mid-range jumpers, or go right at the defense and score in the paint. She has a solid handle and can maneuver around the court, finding her spots on the floor.

She can easily light up the scoreboard in a matter of seconds, and once she starts feeling it, no defense can stop her. Tanner was 4A-4 all-conference and an all-state selection last season. She is one of the top players in the 4A classification, and she will strive to become the best this season.

Tanner’s 3-point shooting is remarkable. She has a quick release, an excellent follow-through, and solid elevation. Tanner is always ready to shoot the ball off the catch, but she also has a great shot fake, which she can then use the side-step to create extra separation to knock down a triple. If the three is not available, then no worries, Tanner can step in and knock down mid-range shots from all over. If that is not there, then there is still no reason to worry, as Tanner can drive inside and finish against the trees.

Defense creates more offense for Tanner. She is great at picking off passes and taking them to the other end for easy layups. If she cannot score for herself, Tanner has the vision to dish the rock to a teammate for an open look.
