#24 – Standing at an impressive 6-foot-3, it’s easy to see why Swenson ranks high on our list. Her combination of height, length of frame, and mobility are something you just don’t find every day. Like many players who hit a major growth spurt early on, it will be some time before we see Svea’s full athletic potential, but already, the glimpses of a strong collegiate prospect are there. On top of her size, the Orono freshman has great hands, meaning she can catch post-entry passes and snag rebounds that many other players would miss. With a soft touch at the rim and a developing midrange shot, Swenson’s growth will be worth the wait.

Standing at an impressive 6-foot-3, Swenson was easily one of the tallest and longest players in the gym on Sunday. The Minnesota Stars forward showed off her significant mobility and athleticism at the Freshman Showcase, particularly on the defensive end. Quick enough to slide over and cover lane drives, Swenson protected the paint and used her length to control the glass and block shots. Not only is she consistent at protecting the basket, but the Orono freshman also crashes the boards offensively and finds the right pass to a teammate on the perimeter. When looking to score, Swenson reliably gets to her sports and is not afraid to fight for positioning down low.

Standing at 6’3 and likely still growing, Swenson is one of the tallest and lengthiest players in the class. On top of that she’s quick in the open court, not afraid to play physical, and highly effective on the boards. The Orono 8th grader finds the majority of her scoring on the low block, feeding off post-entry passes and second chance opportunities with a soft finish at the rim. In addition to her abilities in the paint, Svea has shown a developing midrange jumper in recent months. The Minnesota Stars post will certainly turn college coaches’ heads in the years to come.
