The Prep Girls Hoops Freshmen 50 – our first full ranking of the Class of 2030 – will debut this fall, shortly after the PGH Freshmen Showcase in September. That event gives incoming 9th graders one final chance to make their case before the list goes live. In the meantime, we're spotlighting 20 rising prospects who've already caught our attention – players we've been watching closely in recent months. So far we've introduced 10 names on our 2030 Watch List. Today, we continue with five more standouts from across the state.

As always, a quick reminder: Prep Girls Hoops rankings are based on long-term potential at the college level. Current production plays a role, but it's not the whole story. These players are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

One of the premier athletes in the class, Segerstrom has all the physical gifts Division 1 coaches desire. She stands at 6'1 with a strong, solidly built frame. Not to mention she's quick, explosive, and elevates over defenders with ease. That's not all Mara has going for her though. The Prior Lake 8th grader is versatile and can play multiple positions, and has a well-honed fundamental skillset. Plus she already thinks the game at a high level. One of the stand out performers on [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan']'s 14U EYBL roster, Segerstrom is going to be a big name among the 2030s.

Stone has quickly worked her way into Freshman 50 contention, bursting onto the AAU scene this spring. Long, fluid, and shifty with the ball in her hands, the Minnetonka 8th grader has a tremendous natural feel for the game. She's a strong passer, skilled ball handler, and a smooth finisher at the rim. Standing at 5'11, Emmy creates havoc on the defensive end with her length and consistent level of effort. With plenty of room to grow in her physical strength and overall skill development, things are up from here for the Enterprise Elite floor general.

Standing at 6'3 and likely still growing, Swenson is one of the tallest and lengthiest players in the class. On top of that she's quick in the open court, not afraid to play physical, and highly effective on the boards. The Orono 8th grader finds the majority of her scoring on the low block, feeding off post-entry passes and second chance opportunities with a soft finish at the rim. In addition to her abilities in the paint, Svea has shown a developing midrange jumper in recent months. The [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'] post will certainly turn college coaches' heads in the years to come.

As a reliable top performer for both Rochester Lourdes and [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan']'s 14U EYBL squad, Truty has already cut her teeth on some big stages. The 5'9 guard is a highly skilled passer and playmaker, a staunch perimeter defender, and can easily take over a game, finding ways to score at all three levels. Add in her elite basketball IQ and her unwavering work ethic on the court, and Amelia begins to look like a top-notch college prospect. Remarkably consistent and poised for her age, Truty shows up for her team night in and night out.

A confident scorer who can put up big numbers on any given night, Waldo brings a fierce, competitive edge each time she steps on the court. The 5'8 guard uses her physical strength to her advantage, easily absorbing contact on her way to the rim. The Rogers 8th grader is just as much of a threat from the perimeter. With a long range on her shot, Madison is not a player defenders will want to sag off. With a hunger to keep improving her game and some serious basketball lineage on her side, Waldo is sure to make a name for herself among this group.
