Simmie Colson | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Gilmore grabbed my attention early, see evaluations here, and one thing I love is “on the court progression” so watching her grow each season and seeing what she did at Clash Of The Clubs, showing she could take over games in crunch time, had me SMH on what she continues to become

Gilmore can play multiple positions, much of that due to her skillset as well as mindset because she understands positioning to help her outbound taller players and her decision making has always been special see evaluations here Watching her turn into THE GLUE over the weekend was nice as she was poised and under control on both ends

Gilmore is the straw that stirs the drink as she understands how to get hers “in the flow” as well as being able to flip the switch and score however she wants. Her body control after contact off the dribble keeps getting better as she’s stronger, and contact is irrelevant. Her pull-up jumper was dropping; she saw the floor in the set as well as in transition, and her defense was solid, including playing the passing lane

Gimore refuses to settle and be stuck in a box, and that’s one of the many attributes she has that I like. She’s always been eager and focused, yet her “poise under pressure” has gone to another level. She drops the jumper with a hand in her face, even in the clutch, but her finishing strongly after contact has gotten better. The same can be said about her court vision and defense, but her quick hands picked some pockets

Gilmore impressed me so much at the Simmie Colson Classic that I wouldn’t be surprised if she continues making jumps upwards. She’s strong, understands how to attack by using the slight HEZ yet her body control after contact is a huge plus. Midrange has been clicking, so has her court vision, see evalutions here

Gilmore continues to show me her ceiling has no roof and is a powerful guard who finishes strongly after contact as well as able to drop the jumper while being defended got her listed on the WATCHLIST yet her improved court vision across the board as well as her “on the ball” pressure baseline to baseline is taking off

Gilmore is in a unique position because one thing I catch each time I see her is “on the court” progression and the ability to adapt to whatever situation she’s placed in. She attacks the basket strongly, finishes the same way, and can drop the jumper yet her court vision and defense continue to rise

Gilmore is transitioning to high school ball nicely and I saw it keeping because playing up over the club season helped as well as her “zest for learning” and showing it on the court. Her upside is nice, she’s comfortable playing multiple positions on both ends of the court and she filled in many blanks

Gilmore is another player who has that #THROWBACK mentality and at the PGH Freshman Showcase, she simply gave me an abundance of intangibles that she brings to the table see evaluation here yet as she begins to “set the table” in high school, I’ll be watching closely see evaluation here

Gilmore’s star shined brightly at the PGH Freshman Showcase and her falling into that, how did I put it, “never takes a play off” has already translated over to her high school squad see evaluation here Her upside is high for several reasons other than her athleticism because she comprehends the game and doesn’t force anything but her midrange jumper along with her scoring off the dribble will come in handy, as well as her defense, plus she handles the ball and sees the floor under pressure
