Starring for Bethany last season, Talia has taken her game to Grind Prep Academy, where her game has been traveling in a big way. With a schedule that features games in 11 states and the District of Columbia, safe to say that they are seeing the toughest competition any Oklahoma high school player is seeing. I was able to see some highlights from the She Got Game Classic in Dallas, where Talia impressed with her pick-and-roll abilities as well as her constantly improving mid-post game. While it is currently a family affair for the Vann family at the University of Oklahoma, Talia went on a recent visit to Stephen F. Austin.

The defensive anchor in the middle for GRIND. Long arms allows her to alter and swat plenty of shots. While also corralling rebounds. Even got on the floor to win 50/50 balls. Along with the defensive determination, they did come out of the halftime break with a plan to feed Van. And she was good on the block, with good footwork and good touch with a pair of scores that really helped GRIND extend their lead on their way to a blowout win.

Oklahoma’s Class of 2025 is deep with talent and Vann is a great example of that. The latest prospect in the athletic and talented Vann family had a strong summer, and will finish up her career playing a national schedule with GRIND Prep. The senior center is one of the premier rim protectors in Oklahoma, with an huge wingspan and strong shot blocking instincts. Recently she went out west to the prestigious Wotten Camp. Her game changing abilities around the basket were evident, while signs of an improving jumper indicate that Vann could be ready to take her game to another level this winter.

Game Watched: Unity Basketball vs Team Moriah Jefferson
Height, wingspan, improving timing and instincts makes the rising junior a force as a shot blocker and rim deterrent. Along with altering shots by her mere presence, she made a handful of blocks in a couple different ways. From coming helpside to almost never being out of a play even when a driver got a step on her, as Vann’s longs arms allowed her to recover and swat away the shot attempt. Offensively, there were some flashes of face up ability, mixed with her ability to hit the offensive glass. Considering the prestigious, athletic family she’s apart of, it will be no surprise to see this 2025 prospect continue to rise.

Vann comes from a long line of talented siblings and when you factor in she’s 6’3 as well as “long and athletic” which is the base, her intangibles start to separate her from others. She went AFTA the ball relentlessly off the rim, yet her powerful finishes around the rim, after contact, were very nice. She also did a good jib defending, in and outside the paint and showed good timing

Height and wingspan can’t be taught and those two traits make Vann a game changer around the basket. Her ability to rebound in contested areas is remarkable, as her long arms allow her to just snatch the ball away from the opposition. Which she often did successfully on both ends of the court. She was credited with three blocks, which she made look easy with her long arms.

will be representing the Bethany Broncos this season. She is an all around talent which is why she is well deserving of being listed in the Top 10 in the Class of 2025. I just could not finish the 2025 PF post without mentioning Talia. She possesses everything a coach would want at the Power Forward position. She can score inside either with a nice post move or a strong rebound then hit you with a 3 the next time down Talia addition to the program to go along with the other pieces Bethany has should put them as the favorite in 4a
