Taya is another player who should be in consideration for a spot on the All-State team. She is very crafty around the rim and is very skilled. I have seen her lead the fast break and use an off-hand one handed pass to a teammate for a layup. She can also catch nearly every pass that is thrown to her, good or bad. She can finish and is great as a secondary defender.

Taya has great footwork in the post and a solid frame that she uses effectively to create space. She is a great second option for Kenmare, playing Robin to

‘s Batman. These two play great together and have Kenmare playing at a high level. Taya is a smart post, using her body efficiently. She makes decisions on where to be on offense prior to getting the ball, something that is hard to teach posts.

Taya started the night off a little slower than normal, but was able to pick it up in the fourth quarter. She snagged several key offensive rebounds for easy put-backs. She had the tough task of trying to keep Bottineau’s bigs off the glass, doing a respectable job. I like Taya’s touch around the rim and her footwork in working for offensive positioning. Taya and Mashae are going to have Kenmare in great shape as the season progresses.

Taya is one of the best post players I have come across in Class B. She has a great feel for the game. Last season she averaged 13.1 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game. She also dished out 65 assists. An All-Region and All-District selection from last season, Taya is going to be critical for Kenmare/Bowbells to have a great season. I am impressed with her footwork around the rim. What I like the most about Taya is her ability to rebound the basketball on the defensive end and begin the transition offense game herself. Taya is going to have another great season.
