Martinez may be one of the most underrated players in the state, but this season she will be the driving force behind Cedar Creek’s championship aspirations. A high-IQ guard with sound fundamentals, Martinez excels at elevating the play of those around her. She embodies servant leadership, consistently setting up teammates and celebrating their successes. Given her dedication and work ethic, I anticipate she will take on increased offensive responsibilities this year. After missing a full season due to injury and returning for her junior year, I expect her confidence in her training and recovery to be at an all-time high. She is a deadly three-point shooter, and even more effective from the mid-range. Poised under pressure and a relentless competitor, Martinez is a name that will undoubtedly be discussed frequently this upcoming season.
