Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC is tough handling the ball, and she takes that toughness to the other end being aggressive playing defense.  She was constantly getting her hands in the way making it difficult for her opponents to get a play going.  She did well attacking the basket banking it off the glass using her handles to get to the opening.

Taylor is a true floor general. A left-handed point guard that is always looking to find the open person and get the ball into play makers hands. She does a good job of dishing out assist by finding her open guards or making bounce passes into the post. She has 3 pt capability if the defenders sag off. Smith has committed to play for the Wingate Bulldogs after her high school career.

Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC is a floor general no matter who is on the court with her.  She can direct her teammates where to go to find the opening, and she moves well with the ball making adjustments to get the pass to her teammates.  She has a great shot from deep knocking it down from anywhere around the perimeter, and she can stop quickly creating space to hit her midrange jumper.  She’s tough on defense, too, picking the pocket of her opponents taking it the other direction.

Concord Academy has consistently been one of the teams to beat in the NCISAA ranks the past several seasons. Smith played a massive role in ensuring the Eagles put together another solid season as evidenced by its 26-7 record plus an unblemished conference showing. Smith recently landed her most recent offer from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania. A few days before that, she announced that she landed an in-state offer from Pfeiffer. Following a junior campaign that saw Smith average 11.7 points, 6.9 assists, 5.5 steals and 4.9 rebounds a contest, Smith is more than poised to conclude her high school career with an exclamation point.

Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC is consistent on the court handling the ball and facilitating plays for her team.  She reads defenses well being able to make adjustments calling the right plays and finding the right options including setting herself up for her own shot from deep.  She attacks the basket well herself, too, finishing on both sides rolling the ball off her fingertips for two.

Smith is very crafty. She can get her shot off in the offense for a three, a floater, or to score at the rim. She has an explosive first step and an outstanding hesitation move. Smith handles the basketball well and knows when to score and when to get her teammates involved. Smith is a fun player to watch on the court because of her amazing offensive skill set.

Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC showed off her range shooting the ball from deep.  She was doing well controlling the ball running the point guard position.  She scored three the old fashioned way driving hard to the basket banking it in through contact.  Her composure throughout games stays consistent as she knows how she can make many contributions for her team.

Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC was making plays on defense getting her hands in the way and picking the pocket of her opponents.  She handles the ball well being able to take these turnovers up the court to get a play going.  She had a nice move using ball fakes running full speed and finishing at the rim to come out after the half.  She continued to show off these finishes in the second half putting up floaters or banking it off the glass.

Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC is another excellent ball handler on this list who has been leading her Concord Academy team this year with her great decision making and shot selection.  She controls the tempo for her team knowing when to push the ball up the court or slow it down to set up an offensive play.  She knows how to find the open lanes attacking the basket and showing off some nice touches around the rim.  Opponents need to try to close out on her quickly as she can definitely knock down her shot from deep.

Taylor Smith Taylor Smith 5'6" | PG Concord Academy | 2026 State NC was showing off her range shooting it from anywhere around the perimeter.  She was making smart decisions knowing when to put up her shot or fake and drive around.  She did a nice job with her jump stops pulling up for two.  Off the dribble, she was making nice cuts to the basket being ready to shoot off the pass as she flashed in the paint.
