Dewey has been a nightmare over the years for opposing Northwest Kansas League teams and is a three-time first teamer. A three level scorer she generated 11.4 points (75% FTs), 6.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.9 steals. Playing with Magic Basketball in summers I have seen her numerous times over the years and know that game-in, game-out she brings her all-around game and just flat out-works opponents over the course of a game. Making a 1A D I state tournament appearance last season Dewey received KBCA second team, KSHSAACovered and Sports In Kansas honorable mention selections.

While Dewey was found last season running the point for the Buffalos Dewey is a natural small forward. A hustling, smart player with solid transition speed Dewey has routinely put up double figures in points and 7-8 rebounds per game over the past two seasons. She scores well around the hoop, finishes with either hand and is consistent with her mid-range jumper. Dewey will also knock down the three ball and can bury several when heated up. A three-time Northwest Kansas League first team selection Dewey, having made several 1A and 2A all-class teams in previous season, was named to KBCA’s 1A Division 1 second team; KSHSAA’s third team; and Sport In Kansas’ honorable mention teams in 2024.

In a Sunday viewing, Dewey was effective as a forward while showing the athletic profile to also being a wing at the next level. If teams fronted her, she was athletic in securing the post entry pass, then smoothly scoring. If they sagged off, she showed the ability to face up and attack them off the dribble. With her quickness and solid handle allowing her to navigate through the defense. Add in good rebounding and there’s a lot to like about the promising wing-forward prospect.

The Buffaloes return to 1A D I after a season in the 2A classification. Through her first two seasons the small forward has averaged 11.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.8 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game. The two-time Northwest Kansas League first team selection also was named Varsity Kansas 2A honorable mention. Dewey is a nice combination of lithe athleticism, quick hops, length, and solid transition speed.
