I loved the hustle Tiyah brough against Team Elite Hubbard. The smallest player on the floor, Turman is extremely scrappy when how she defends on-ball. She’s a fearless competitor. While her defense sticks out, her offense is sneaky effective as well. She uses her low center of gravity and speed to squeak past defenders to get them in illegal guarding position to draw fouls downhill. Tiyah does well jump stopping to play off two feet in the paint. In a 43-40 loss, Turman converted a pair of steals into transition layups as she finished with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 5 steals shooting 4-6 from the foul line.

Turman’s energy in the press and timely offense gave the Blue Devils a spark in their comeback bid against East Laurens which fell just short. Tiyah was relentless on defense, always on the floor trying to win 50/50 balls. Her toughness going up against bigger players helped set the tone for the Blue Devils. She dug out 7 steals to go with her 12 points and 3 assists. Tiyah went 7-8 from the line and drained a three-pointer.

Turman plays with a lot of quickness and makes good decisions with the ball. The junior knows her role and plays it well- get the ball to her team’s scorers, Audrey Lunsford Audrey Lunsford 5'9" | CG Elbert County | 2027 State GA and Aaliyah Allen Aaliyah Allen 5'6" | CG Elbert County | 2027 GA , and score the ball herself when the opportunity presents itself. Turman made shots from three and the midrange in the two games I watched. Tiyah also did a great job pushing the ball out on the break in transition and kicking the ball ahead to open teammates for easy scores. Turman played very good defense, pestering the ball handlers from Commerce and Rabun County.
