Trista Charles was moving well pushing the tempo and hustling up the court staying ready for the pass in transition.  Her ability to fill the open lanes continued throughout the game as she made nice cuts getting to the rim scoring off the pass.  She battles inside for rebounds, and she can serve as her own outlet pushing the ball up the court.

Trista Charles continues to show off her dominance on the court.  She’s incredibly versatile in what she can do.  She handles the ball well knowing how to push the tempo or create the open space to knock down her shot from deep.  She can set herself up on the block, too, sealing off her opponents, and she fights for rebounds on both ends of the court.  Her IQ has been evident for years, and she continues to be a leader on the court.

Trista Charles is having an elite junior season on the basketball floor for Oak Grove. She is averaging over 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists per game. Charles is an exceptional player who can record a double-double on any night. Recently, she scored 31 points and surpassed the 1,000 point mark in the same game for her squad.

She can score from anywhere on the court, she can rebound with force, and she competes on defense. Charles is shooting spectacular numbers from the field, the free throw line, and the three-point line. Through 10 games, Charles is shooting 54% from the field, 77% from the foul line, and over 35% from behind the three-point line. She has a smooth left-handed jumper with a quick release for the Grizzlies. 

Trista Charles is a threat no matter where she is on the court.  She can get inside and battle for some points on the block against any post player.  She can step outside the perimeter showing off her three ball, or she can handle the rock finding open lanes getting to the rim.  She sees the floor well knowing how to move shifting her defenders to get the open look she wants.  Her height is an asset going up for rebounds on both ends of the court.

If sport accolades were certifications, Trista Charles Trista Charles 5'11" | CG Oak Grove | 2025 State NC would certainly be adding a lot of letters behind her name this season as a sophomore.  We’ve said it before, but she can certainly play all positions on the court on both ends.  She does a nice job posting up on the block going against strong opponents, and she can step outside to handle the ball.  She has a nice shot from deep, and she does well pushing the tempo finding her open teammates up the court.  She knows how to use her strength on defense whether she is moving quickly to keep a guard in front of her or stepping down to the block using her length to block some shots.

Trista Charles is incredibly versatile and seems to get better every time I get to see her play.  Her shot from deep is always nice to watch, but she isn’t simply handed those opportunities to put up the shot.  She finds ways to get open moving and relocating on the court knowing how to shift the defense and create her own plays.  She gets inside to do some rebounding, and she can guard any position on the court knowing how to body someone in the paint.

Trista Charles Trista Charles 5'11" | CG Oak Grove | 2025 State NC  has great awareness on the court knowing when she should display some of her best tools.  She can flash to the block losing her defender and scoring two points.  She can get herself open around the arc draining it from deep.  She’s effective on the defensive side of the ball using her wingspan to block shots with ease.

Charles is another multi-sport athlete. When she is not making things difficult for opponents on the basketball court, she is doing the same on the soccer pitch for the 3A Grizzlies. She is a 5-foot-11 combo guard who is efficient from behind the 3-point line. Defensively, she stays active with her hands and arms to clog the passing lanes of her opponents. Charles also has the ability to connect on midrange jumpers and displays impressive ball handling skills. She had a breakout freshman campaign for Oak Grove as she averaged 10 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game in 26 matchups and was a major reason why the Grizzlies finished with a 20-6 record along with a 9-1 conference record.
