On Friday Haumpy went down gunning in a tough loss. She was super impressive during an in person viewing where she hit big three after big three to keep the Lady Braves in touching distance. She’s quick off the bounce and has some deceptive strength when it comes scoring around the basket. While Riverside came up short in that contest, “Kane” would not be denied on Saturday night. She led the bounce back with 25 points. The Lady Braves would take down Cashion 60-51 to reach the state tournament for the third time in four years. Look for Haumpy to be a must watch player on Thursday morning, when she takes on 2nd ranked Howe.

Quick and aggressive, Haumpy is one of the prospects who benefited most from being seen during grassroots and camp play. She’s speedy. She’s aggressive. And she can shoot it. Each viewing of Haumpy over the last six months has reinforced a different next level trait. Expect her to continue to put together two way game changing production for a Riverside Indian team that is top 5 in Class 2A.

Haumpy had the “juice” at the RUN Shocawse. She was often too fast and quick, using her speed to be a terror in transition. And the quickness to carve up the defense off the bounce in the halfcourt. She’s a flair player with crafty finishes at the rim and fancy passing, especially in transition. Can thread the needle to make great passes that successful lead teammates to the rim for scores. Also racks up the hockey assists with smart pitch ahead passes. Was also a thief and pest on the defensive end, which fueled those eye catching passes she fed to teammates. Very impressive showing for Haumpy as she gears up for a State Tournament run for Riverside in 2A.

Frist thing that caught my eye Saturday was how many deflections and steals Tyuana was collecting in the game. The defense presence that is a game changer in disrupting the other team’s offense. A shooter that must be accounted for on defense as moves to the open spot for the 3 pointers. Looking at social media profile and Tyuana recorded some big-time games for her High School squad.

Produced a strong off the ball scoring punch in the second half of Select’s win. Knocked down shooter when left alone from deep, including a few steps beyond the high school line. Smart offensive contributor overall, ran down a loose ball that was going out of bounds and made a save which went directly to a teammate for a three pointer. Savvy guard who picked her spots well, including a late coast to coast take to help ice the game.
