Unique is a small guard with a big game. Quick as a hiccup, she can get wherever she wants off the dribble. A streaky perimeter shooter who can heat up in a hurry, she displays excellent speed in transition and goes north to south in a flash. Very good perimeter defender who can stop penetration. She also plays fearless, and with a lot of heart. Unique will leave it all on the floor in her senior season.

You may not find a better third option in Kentucky than Unique. She moves up ten spots from 43rd to 33rd and should have a bigger role for the Lady Red Devils next season. For Owensboro to get back to Rupp Arena, they will rely on Carter-Swanagan quite a bit.

Unique Carter-Swanigan played at a very high level in her sophomore season at Owensboro High School. She helped guide the Lady Devils to a Sweet 16 state tournament appearance, where she had a star-studded performance scoring 15 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, dished 2 assists, and came up with 3 steals in a tough first round loss to Henderson County. Unique plays fearless, she is a wiry guard that is deceptively quick and has the handles to get anywhere she wants on the court. Carter-Swanagan is so quick and shifty with the ball. She lives for the big moments and isn’t afraid to be the one to take big shots. She played a huge role in getting her team the lead back in the final quarter and while they ultimately fell short, she never stopped fighting. Carter-Swanagan scored at all 3 levels and contributed in every way imaginable despite being a point guard. She finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

The 3rd region revolves around the 9th district this season. Three of the top 4 teams in the region are in Owensboro. Owensboro Catholic is the top seed in the 9th so Owensboro and Daviess County will duel for the right to play the Aces in the district title game. Carter-Swanagan was the second leading scorer for the Red Devils in both of their games against DC this season. If she plays at a high level, they can get into the regional tournament and be a real threat to upset Owensboro Catholic.

Carter-Swanagan is super skilled and a tough lead guard whose only hindrance is her lack of elite size at the point guard spot.
