Hernandez has made numerous Tip Sheets from me, and when her club coach and director, Maggie King, first told me about the small town player with plenty of potential, I had to catch her see evaluations here, so watching her continuously getting better was nice, but seeing her evolve over the club season into a clutch performer was special
Hernandez played one of the most complete games I saw at the event as she never took a play off on either end. She played the passing lane, dove for loose balls on the floor, blocked shots, applied “on the ball” heat in the set, as well as baseline to baseline. Her pull-up jumper looked good, she nailed the long ball ala “catch and shoot” and her court vision was solid
Hernandez was one of the bright stars I caught early during club season and her star continues to shine brightly with her scorer’s mentality, in the team concept. She creates her shot under pressure but she also creates spacing to get it off and knock down the mid to long-range jumper. Her deceptive first step gets the defender off balance so she can score, her court vision is nice, in the set as well as in transition and she plays good defense
