Vera Grom Vera Grom 5'10" | SF Sioux City West | 2025 State IA of Sioux City West is an interesting prospect from a recruitment perspective. She has better than average height at 5’10, she has a patented floater or runner within 12FT of the hoop, and she isn’t the one to make bad choices when the pressure get’s turned up to a higher level in clutch time. She can also rebound better than most and she can make a play whenever things might happen to break down. When you combined all that together, you get a college level player and that’s what Grom is to some extent. I’m not sure if that’s her motivation in all of this but if she wanted too, I’m sure there are a few places that would accept her with open arms.

There is a very limited list of prospects that averaged a double-double throughout their season last Winter in Iowa and SF – Vera Grom Vera Grom 5'10" | SF Sioux City West | 2025 State IA of Sioux City West was almost in that conversation. Grom put together a Junior season in which she averaged just under 15 PPG and right around 9.9 RPG, just falling short of that mark but she should still be incredibly proud. Proud but not satisfied. I think that this Winter, this is someone that WILL average a double-double in her efforts. She is going to feast near the paint once again with her mixture of size, touch, physical prowess, and calculated aggressive behavior. This is the season where she can really push her limits and give it her all for her last time on the high school floor. If she does that and other around her can eat off of her opportunity, they are all going to love how the season plays out.

This Winter I will be in attendance to scout Sioux City West compete and I am excited to watch their prospects go to work. Especially players like SF, Vera Grom Vera Grom 5'10" | SF Sioux City West | 2025 State IA . Grom returns for her Senior season, coming off of a solid AAU Spring/Summer and prior high school Varsity season as a Junior. Last Winter, she averaged a team high 14.9 PPG on 47% shooting, along with 9.5 RPG, and 2 APG. Coming into this Winter, her role will become even bigger as they lose one of their main producers from a year ago due to graduation. This is a big opportunity from Grom but she should be up for the challenge. In this Update, she moves in out Top 100 at #88. Something she should be proud of but not satisfied with.

The South Dakota Network is a group that I do not get to see too much throughout the AAU season but a prospect that is competing for them out of Iowa is SF, Vera Grom Vera Grom 5'10" | SF Sioux City West | 2025 State IA . Grom competes with Sioux City West during the high school season, being a leader for that group in a few different ways statistically. At 5’10, she isn’t the tallest prospect but she holds her on in the height category while being knowledgable in the situational side of the game. With the experience she is receiving now, she should get some opportunities to make a big impact this year with West. She just needs to take hold of the chances and seize the moment.
