Vika Vuyiv Vika Vuyiv 5'6" | PG/SG Cathedral Academy | 2027 State SC impacts every aspect of the game. She runs the floor well, knocks down her free throws, and embraces contact on the offensive end. She stays patient behind the three-point line, and when she gets a clean look, it’s usually a knockdown. She crashes the boards, sees the floor exceptionally well, and displays great footwork in the paint.

Defensively, think twice before attacking the rim—she has the timing and toughness to swat the ball right out of your hands. Her basketball IQ stands out, consistently making the right read and putting herself in position to make winning plays. She plays with confidence on both ends of the floor and never takes a possession off. Vika is the type of player who affects the game even when she isn’t scoring, doing all the little things that help her team succeed.

Vuyiv made headlines earlier in the offseason when it was known that she was transferring from Charleston Collegiate to another SCISA school in Cathedral Academy for her senior season. She has played in multiple sports throughout her athletic career – including soccer and volleyball in addition to what she has got accomplished on the basketball court. Vuyiv is one of the featured players for Team Charleston 17U and competed in 18 contests last season with the Sundevils. She averaged 16.1 points last season and is sure to be a worthwhile addition to a Generals team that had a resurgent 2025-26.

Vuyiv has maintained an active athletic schedule throughout her athletic career. In addition to basketball, Vuyiv has also tried her hand at volleyball and soccer. Her Team Charleston 17U put together an impressive showing at Peach Games over the weekend. The team finished 2-3, but the three defeats were by a combined 12 points. Vuyiv played in 18 games this past season with SCISA 2A Charleston Collegiate and averaged 16.1 points per game. She was one of two juniors on this past season’s Sundevils team. Vuyiv can attack the rim with plenty of speed and quickness and can throw defenders off guard with her ability to handle the ball with her left and finish with her right at times. She also brings plenty of shiftiness and agility with her to the court. 

Vika was constantly around the ball and generated numerous steals that turned into points for her team. She showed a nice floater as part of her scoring package and was effective pushing the ball in transition with both her dribble and her passing. She made the right reads as a playmaker and consistently shared the ball with teammates in advantageous situations. She maneuvered well through pressure with her handle and kept the offense organized as a true floor general.
