About Vonna

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a physical player with great speed. I like to play a fast pace game. I will go for steals and clear outlet passes for fast breaks. I am a guard but will post up and love to rebound.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a quite competitor with a reserved style. I will get the job done, I am not flashy with my words or actions.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I have done mission work with my church. I am a speed skater with US Speed Skating. I run track with Milwaukee Speed Academy as a sprinter, hurdler, thrower, jumper and heptathlete.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I like helping others. I know teamwork is just as important off the court as it is on the court. I have learned everyone brings something to the game and I can pick up new things because of it. I am not afraid to ask for help.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am dyslexic. The good part is I see a few steps ahead of what could happen in a play. The challenge is I need to see plays on paper and walk through them to become super confident in understanding the full play. Dyslexia is not just challenges of words on paper, it also has an impact on movements in sports.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has diversity. I think a midsized school would be nice.
