She started as a freshman and she continues to grow and develop her game year round. She is an excellent defender that can cover ground quickly in the open floor and is extremely agile and athletic. She is a very coachable player that will do anything you asked her to do. Her offensive game is developing, but she is a nightmare to cover on the fast break. Look for Ximena to be a player to watch for Desert View for years to come.

Ximena Castaneda Ximena Castaneda 5'6" | CG Desert View | 2028 State AZ had a breakout season last season as a Freshman. She started every game and continued to show improvement as the season went along. She is a lightning quick defender that can run down players in the open floor and can close out on shooters. She has the ability to get steals in pressure situations and turn defense into offensive opportunities consistently. Her offensive game is continuing to develop at a high level and she will go down as one of the best players to come out of Desert View in a long time.
