Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Yasmeen was an under-the-radar prospect until the spring travel season and she made a heck of an impression at several events. Yasmeen has excellent footwork and pivots that she uses to create space against defenders. She is a confident ball-handler with jabs, crossovers, and pivot dribbles that make her tough to stop when she drives to the basket. Yasmeen is a three-level scorer with accuracy from beyond the arc and a fantastic passer. She works hard to defend her responsibility on defense and maintain the advantage for rebounds. Yasmeen is a vocal leader, a high-achieving student, and a sharp communicator. I expect Yasmeen to have an All-League level season for the Red Hawks in 2024 and be an excellent addition to a college program following her senior season.

Yasmeen is a prospect who I have greatly enjoyed watching during travel and summer ball: she has leadership qualities, strong fundamentals, and is a confident speaker. Yasmeen demonstrated excellent pivoting footwork to score contested layups in the paint against a taller defender but recognized when to kick the ball out to shooters. Yasmeen had one of the most fluid and rhythmic 3 point shots off the catch. She pushed the ball coast to coast for a layup off two after securing the defensive rebound.

Yasmeen competed as a forward/wing this spring during the Grassroots season, but effectively transitioned into her role as a guard and primary scorer for Troy Athens at Summer League last week. Yasmeen drove full court to score a soft floater, used a sweet high pickup move to finish a layup, and scored with a pound dribble drop step off two in the paint. One of her best plays came when she beat a defender with a quick spin dribble to score another layup. Her versatility to play many positions is an asset for Athens.

was a wing/forward who shined bright in multiple games for
1829
Cobra at the Cagers Invitational. She energized her team with verbal encouragement and clutch plays on both ends of the court. Yasmeen drove hard downhill to score a floater in the paint and scoop layup after a steal. She shot efficiently beyond the arc, knocking down two wing 3’s. Yasmeen worked for an offensive rebound then finished off two and used a smooth drop step pivot to hit a jumper inside. She scored a high pick up layup driving to the rim and knocked down her free throws (MOI, Pediatric Surgeon)

(2025,
1829
Cobra) verbally encouraged her teammates on the court and moved very well in the offensive segment. She sets screens and pops, making quick reads and anticipating where teammates are going. Yasmeen makes strong passes and handles the ball well; she can integrate step back and jab dribbles on her way to the basket. Yasmeen has the ability to make smooth spin dribble transfers to her left and knock down mid-range shots off the dribble (MOI, Pediatric Surgeon).
