Yogi is a player who caught my eye after transferring to Starrs Mill in the offseason. She was very good for them in June when I watched them at GBCA Live and Wofford team camp. She uses her size and length very well slashing to the basket and finishing at the rim. She also showed on Saturday that she is more than capable of knocking down shots from the perimeter with makes from outside and inside the three point line. The most impressive aspect of Yogi’s game is her body control and patience when getting to the rack. She was able to go around and over defenders on the ground and in the air before finishing with both hands in the paint. I expect her to have a big sophomore year as she gives Starrs Mill another player to take attention away from Lindsey Kopachek. Boynton recently received an offer from Jackson State.

A few players stood out as the most fun to watch at The Shootout Nashville and Yogi Boynton was one of them in the 15U group. Boynton is a 3-point specialist sinking multiple triples throughout the day. She finishes through contact and gets to the charity stripe often. Her dominance doesn’t stop there, she’s also a disruptive and very active defender. The future is bright for Boynton!
