Zaniya Reddick
About Zaniya
Expert Analysis
Charles Foster | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Zaniya was effective getting downhill in the half-court while also capitalizing on fast-break opportunities created by her team’s stifling defense. She’s quick with the ball in her hands and plays with confidence, not shying away from contact once she gets to the rim.
Her aggressiveness paid off, as she consistently got to the line—going 6-for-11—and added four field goals. That combination of pressure on the defense and willingness to attack makes her a tough cover.

was all over the court attacking the basket flashing in the paint for the pass and bucket. She handled pressure bringing the ball up the court and finding her open teammates. She was effective on defense jumping in front of passes and being a nuisance on defense. She had a tough steal on the in bounds pass being ready to take the ball up for some points. She was really a nuisance on defense playing tough on ball blocking the path of her opponents slowing them down up the court, and she knows how to anticipate what they’re going to try to get going on offense.

was aggressive on the court getting her hands in the way and going after the ball no matter what it took. She’s quick handling the ball herself making nice moves to get to the opening and find her teammates. She had an explosiveness to get to the ball as the pass by her opponents was attempting to make its way to it target. She showed off her range shooting the ball, too.

Zaniya pushed the tempo all day by getting the ball quickly up the court when she had the ball in her hands. She was looking to be a threat off the dribble by looking for scoring lanes and opportunities to create for her teammates off the pass. She was solid defensively and didn’t seem to be bothered when she had to guard bigger players.
