Ziyah Green is an all-state selection who brings a defensive-minded approach to the frontcourt and has shown she can contribute even when she isn’t putting up big scoring numbers. The 6’1” Barton standout averaged 5.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game last season, with her production on the defensive end standing out as an important part of her overall game. Her rebounding numbers show an ability to stay involved around the basket, while her steals suggest she can also create opportunities by disrupting opposing players and getting into passing lanes. Green’s defensive impact gives her a way to influence the game beyond scoring, which is an important quality for a frontcourt player. She can help her team by competing for possessions, putting pressure on the opposition and contributing to stops that lead to transition opportunities. While her scoring average leaves room for growth offensively, her existing production in rebounding and steals gives her a foundation to build on. As she continues developing, becoming more consistent as a scorer could make her an even more well-rounded contributor for Barton.

Let’s head to East Arkansas now, where Ziyah Green Ziyah Green 6'1" | PF/C Barton | 2027 State AR is coming into this season as Barton’s only returning all-state player. They had four all-state performers last season, so Green has a massive role coming up this year.

Barton’s scoring was primarily left up to its backcourt, but Green held it down in the middle. She averaged 5.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game this past season. The rebounding and defense has always been there for Green, and I think we will see a big jump in her scoring.

Green uses her strength and stature to secure a position on the block, and once she has the ball in the post, she goes to work. She can back down her defender, push her under the basket, and score with ease, or she can box out her opponent and fly in for an offensive putback.

Ziyah Green Ziyah Green 6'1" | PF/C Barton | 2027 State AR is one of the best candidates for a rankings increase this coming year. Big year ahead for the senior.
