About Zoey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a point guard, I am always looking to push the tempo and get my teammates open looks, whether it's a fast break or set play. My speed allows me to break down defenses, making it easier to create opportunities for everyone on the floor. I love setting up plays and being the one to make the game flow, knowing that I can always turn a chaotic moment into points.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am extremely competitive and always putting in 100% at practices and in games. I am focused and take my job as a team leader seriously. I am always looking for ways to improve and help my team to become better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I received the Bulldog Award in high school which represents hard work, leadership and determination. I led my team in points, highest foul shot percentage, and most assists.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Balancing multiple sports and being in student council is a challenge, but this has taught me the gift of time management. Between basketball, soccer, and lacrosse/track, I must stay organized and focused in order to get everything accomplished. Being in student council also teaches me leadership and teamwork, which are evident in the classroom and on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Watching your twin tear her ACL and miss a year of sports was challenging. We’ve always competed together, so watching her struggle with surgery and rehab was painful, especially knowing how competitive she is. I worked to support her and helped her stay positive and motivated - reminding her that she would be back stronger than ever. It's an honor to be back on the court beside her.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where my twin sister and I can thrive on the basketball court. We have an unspoken sense that is evident on the court when we are together. We have been working toward this goal together, so it only makes sense to continue our educational and athletic journey together.
