The freshmen class is proving to be diverse and talented. One of the most talented players in the class of 2022 is <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147726" first="Zoey" last="Persails"]</strong>. The 5’9" shooting guard / small forward has flashed an impressive skill set. <strong>Persails </strong>is having a solid season and has a big future at Reese High School.
We caught up with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147726" first="Zoey" last="Persails"] </strong>to talk about her game, the remainder of the season, and more.
Question:
What do you think is the biggest strength in your game?

Outside shot, I can shoot off the dribble and get to the hoop and finish.

What has been key to your impressive freshman season?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147726" first="Zoey" last="Persails"]:</strong>
Getting pushed by seniors at practice and at games. Everyone knows everyone’s potential and wants them to succeed at their highest level possible.

Is there a game remaining on your schedule that you’re looking forward to?

Valley Lutheran because I played most of the girls in grade school. Oh, and hopefully a State Championship.

What are your teams goals for the remainder of the season?

Play like we know we can, win conference, and make it far in the playoffs.

Is there a veteran teammate that has really helped you this season?
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147726" first="Zoey" last="Persails"]:</strong>
Definitely <strong>Taylor Findlay</strong>. Taylor and my type of play mirror each others. We are similar in lots of ways. She is a great leader and wants the most out of me. She has been awesome.

Who is the toughest player that you’ve matched up with this season?

<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126261" first="Kelynn" last="Kujat"]</strong> of Frankenmuth High School. Kelynn kept us on our toes while defending her. She can shoot the deep three or can get to the hole well. <strong>Emily Coveyoy </strong>of Saint Ignance LaSalle was a strong player also. Finished well in the post and had a nice jumper. Both are great players.

What is your best moment in basketball?

My best moment or favorite moment is probably when we are working as a team. When we get up and defend and force turnovers we are dangers on the fast break. When all girls are playing together we are close to unstoppable.

Who is your favorite teacher in school? Why?

Probably Mrs. Hugo, my English teacher because our personalities are similar. She wants the best out of her students and I enjoy having her class as the first hour of my day!
