The Deep Creek Hornets led by UMES commit, Mya Thomas, received the Class 4 Region A No.1 seed. The Hornets playing without Longwood commit Adriana Shipp, are looking to go deep into the state tournament.
The No. 2 seeded Lake Taylor Titans are the favorites to win the Class 4 Region A championship and possibly the Class 4 state championship.
Led by class of 2021 nationally ranked point guard Janiya “JJ” Quinerly and a pressing, aggressive style, Titan games usually end in extremely lopsided victories.
Now, that first round games are complete, the Class 4 Region A quarterfinals are set. Smithfield and Wilson will now move on to Tuesdays quarterfinals. Smithfield with a 62-42 victory over Grafton and Wilson with a 15 point 58-43 win versus Heritage.
