Clarksville
Clarksville is a team that likes to slow it down and look for a good shot. They are shooting 45.9 percent on the year, which is 6.6 percent higher than the second team in the region. They score 54.5 points a game while only allowing 30.0 points a game. Junior Kori Wedeking is the leading point scorer in the region as she scores 18.1 points a game. Her play will be paramount in leading Clarksville to a Region 2 title.
The Sleepers
Bishop Garrigan
Despite being 14-5 on the season, they really only have one bad loss. That loss came to Garner-Hayfield-Ventura back in early December when they shot the ball awful. They are led by sophomore Kaylyn Meyers who scores an average of 15.7 points a game. This is a team that can very well win the region with all the talent they have on the roster.
Lansing Kee
Like Bishop Garrigan, Lansing Kee doesn't really have any bad losses even though they sit at 13-5. This is a very experienced squad who has the potential to knock off anyone in this region. Lansing Kee, like Clarksville, slows it way down in order to look for a good shot. They only score 41.4 points a game but they outscore their opposition by 15.6 points a game. Senior Makayla Walleser and freshman Reagan Mudderman are the two parts that make this team go. Look for them to have a big tournament.
The Outside Shots
Tripoli
Tripoli has played pretty solid this year but fell in their lone game to Clarksville so far this season. They have won every other game against fellow teams in the region. They are a team that likes to shoot it pretty quickly as evidenced by their 1,012 field goal attempts on the year. The junior duo of Zoe Semelroth and Olivia Miller have led them by scoring 13.5 points and 12.1 points a game, respectively. This is a team that can knock off anyone if they get hot.
Turkey Valley
This is a team with a few puzzling losses this season, but they are playing good basketball at the right time. They have won their last eight games and in those eight games, four have came against regional foes. In their last game, they knocked off Lansing Kee to split the season series. Katlyn Baumler, a senior, leads Turkey Valley with 12.9 points a game. Baumler will be key to a long run in the tournament.
Newman Catholic
This is a team that is going to just throw up 3-pointers whenever they have a chance. They have 1,116 field goal attempts on the season and 554 of those have been shots behind the arc. They have made 129 shots from behind the arc which is 30 more makes than anyone in the region. If they get hot, they can beat anyone. Sophomore Kealan Curley has hit 29 threes this year to lead the team and will have to get hot for the tournament to win.
