Yesterday, I looked at some of the top guards who participated in the Bill Moss Memorial Underclass All-Star Games held last week at Edison State College. Today, a look at some of the top wings, who have the ability to do a lot with the ball, they can also play some guard or post up it needed.
Tomorrow, a look at the post players who shined on this day.
Bailey Shepherd, 5-10 2020, Eaton- Solid shooter with good range, as she can step out and shoot the three, or get to the rim. Good attitude on the floor, seems like a very coachable player. Has to do a lot for her high school team, but on a team with plenty of star power, she can relax and just play. She can score, rebound and defend.
Very under the radar, Shepherd (pictured above) is a kid who could definitely help a college program. Works hard on the game, and looking to improve on her weaknesses. A name that coaches need to look at this summer
Aubrey Stupp Aubrey Stupp 6'0" | CG Valley View High School | 2020 OH , 6-0 2020, Valley View- this kid has been well known since she broke onto the scene as a freshman standout. Since then she has moved to Valley View, where she fit in well with that powerful lineup. She brought a lot to the table in the all-star game.
At 6-foot, she can known down the three with any guard, can penetrate and score at the rim, handles the ball when needed, and will defend well. Impressive with her work ethic, and has a great attitude. Good intangibles, a smart heady player. Look for stock to go higher this summer.
Jordan Hobbs Jordan Hobbs 5'9" | CG Springboro | 2021 State OH , 6-2 2021, Springboro- agile athletic kid who really impressed me with her ability to play all over the court. Long kid who can score in the paint, and adds to her arsenal by being a three-point threat. Jordan runs the floor well, and in transition, she can make things happen.
Another kid who is under the radar at times, but just makes things happen. What coaches like about her is length and shooting ability.
Claire Henson Claire Henson 5'11" | PF Valley View | 2022 State OH , 5-9 2022, Valley View- Claire was a late addition to the all-star game, but she didn’t disappoint, and she proved she belonged. She was very active around the rim, and can score from either the paint or the perimeter, Smart, heady player with the athleticism to take her opponent off the dribble, and if you watched her, you may not believe she is a freshman. Plays above her years, and at times can be the best player on the floor.
Trinity Bellard, 5-11 2022, Middletown Christian- another freshman who impressed those who were there. She has very good court vision and quickness. She is not afraid of contact and gets to the rim. Can use some work at the free throw line since she lands there often, but she is smart and seems to understand the game.
She is athletic and gets out on transition. A tough kid who has played through some injuries this season, she likes to pressure the ball and had a good wingspan. Reads the passing lanes well.
